I feel deeply. I look through the world with my own eyes. When my emotions fill me I need to get them out, so I use this blog as my outlet. I am raw, honest, and fragile in these words. I bare my soul. I expose myself. I don’t hold back or censor. These words are just raw feelings, not always rational and not always pretty. Maybe you will see a piece of you in my words, maybe you will see pieces of me. Each post I attempt to be more honest with myself and more brave in the world in my writing, art and general expression. Enjoy the front row seats as I develop this character that is me.

My newest challenge had been to pair my words with something visual. Unless otherwise stated, all photographs and art are mine.

“You write voraciously … ( in all caps )”
- Geo Sans

“its good to hear you in your poetry”
-Sohail Fazluddin
“…like a piece of emotion shed as a tear, frozen and glittering in the air.”
- by Sam “Eris” Oliver in response to my work.

“Art surrounds her…
seeps from her pores…
that art becomes her
her very breath
a poem
her every move
a stroke of the brush…
a pluck of the perfect note”
- Jeff Loquist

  2. Sarah,

You have a talent of expressing your love, despite the fact that there is none shown in return for you…..I feel the frustration and desire so intensely, I am on the same path– we must be strong with our love, shine it all the way through, do not hold it in and let it all out (im still working on this myself)

But I would love to read the rest today but I have a important test today that I must study for, b/c my lonely love has driven me to distraction with writing and passion.

I will be back to comment more. :)

    Great work!

  5. Okay, for some reason it wouldn’t let me reply on my blog to your comment (like some max 3 replies thing or something (weird)), but here it goes:

“Ok, so have you seen any or all of these:

    1. The Stuff – yep
    2. April Fools Day – yep
    3. Sleep away camp – totally
    4. Night of the comet – watched it last week again
    5. Dead alive – of course, though, this one is actually from the early 90s”

  6. Hey Sarah! You have a wonderful site here. And I love your poems.
Coming to your “About’ page, isn’t that exactly what we are here for? To bare ourselves to the world? All of us here. Lovely thought. :)

      • Thank you! I love doing it, that is for sure! Your poetry is amazing. You make it look easy, which it is not. I might be able to come up with a naughty limerick if pressed, but that’s about it. Ha!

      • You are too kind. Poetry is like breath to me. It comes naturally. Now if only math or electronics came this easily. I look forward to delving into your site. Time is a needed commodity as I have movers coming in a week!!!!

      • Even your comments are written well! I am supposed to be de-cluttering this week too. Can’t….keep…..away….
‘Cause, really, de-cluttering is not so fun. Good luck moving!!

  7. Hi.

    Some thoughts.

I don’t recall seeing you around my blog before– or if I did, shame on me, I never clicked to find out who gave me a like or a follow. But your name stuck out from a bunch of people who had liked Scott’s about page, and while he isn’t a follower of mine (in fact, the first time I knew anything about his blog was simply because he liked one of my stories) I thought your blog looked interesting, and so here I am.

I’m a big believer in faith in oneself and the power of healing through that; inner strength is a wonderful, terrible thing. When I dropped by and scanned through– and then read and reread– your more recent poetry… I knew I needed to say something.

Well, it was really more like good nature overruling shy business.

I just want to let you know that if you need someone to talk to or talk at or whatever, or show your new poetry to- well, I’m here. Sometimes our feelings overwhelm us. I am more than familiar with how that feels. Poetry can be a great outlet, prose can be a wonderful outlet, but oftentimes it isn’t enough.

I suppose I’m being silly and dragging it out, as per usual. I’m just offering a shoulder to lean on. I don’t really know you, but you feel like someone who might need it. I dunno, I could be reading you one hundred percent wrong. There’s precedent for that. But I’ve said it now, the offer is out.

In tangentially related news, I love your poems. Their outward simplicity hides an inward complexity, and the raw feeling expressed in them, from free verse to haiku, is staggering. I admire your bravery, your strength in showing them to the world. I try to be as honest in my work, but I’m not so well known as you.

    Best wishes,
    Eris

    • Thank you Eris. You are very kind. My poetry is the most intense part of me. I feel and think deeply but I always come back to happy. You are a very thoughtful person and I am glad that you reached out. I look forward to reading and hearing from you b

  8. So glad I’ve happened upon our blog in my Reader when I’ had some time to just browse the poetry category – you are a real find! Really impressive work, I look forward to reading more. :)

  9. I “like” a lot of your poems, not just to “like” them, but because I really think they are special. I wish I could comment on all of them. Love your insight, your way of looking at the little things between people. Keep up the great work.

  10. Hello You have a very nice blog here. I love your collections! Keep spreading the joy and beauty through poem to the world, my friend.
    Thanks Cyril

  11. i only discovered your blog lately, but i already know it’s a special place. Interesting observations well told in playful words and illustrated in good art work. A lovely place to go. Thank you !
